Scheffler powered through to defend his title with his eighth PGA Tour career win， becoming the first golfer to win back-to-back Players Championships. Despite reporting neck pain and falling nine strokes off the pace in the third round – Scheffler underwent two physical therapy sessions mid-round and overcame a five-shot deficit to become the seventh man to win the Players on multiple occasions.  

This win draws him level with Golfing legend Tiger Woods – who also holds two wins at the Players.
